Accessibility Statement

01The accessibility widget

At the bottom-left of every page there is an accessibility button (a person icon). Selecting it opens a menu with a set of tools you can turn on to suit how you read and navigate:

Text & reading

• Text size — scale all text from 80% to 200% (in 10% steps).
• Line spacing — increase the space between lines up to 250%.
• Letter spacing — add space between individual letters.
• Dyslexia-friendly font — replace the standard typeface with one that maximises readability for dyslexic readers.

Colour & contrast

• Colour mode — switch between normal, high contrast, inverted, and grayscale.
• Highlight links — underline and recolour every link so it stands out.
• Highlight headings — a marker beside each heading for fast orientation.

Navigation & reading aids

• Reading ruler — a horizontal line that follows the cursor.
• Large cursor — normal, large, and extra-large sizes.
• Focus indicator — a bold ring around the active element (essential for keyboard navigation).

Multimedia & motion

• Pause animations — freeze all motion on the site (essential for users sensitive to movement).
• Hide images — show alt text instead of images.
• Read aloud — once enabled, click any paragraph to hear it read aloud through your browser's speech engine.

Your settings are saved in your browser and stay active on every return visit. You can reset everything with the button at the bottom of the menu.

02Conformance with the standard

The Site was built in line with the principles of WCAG 2.1 at Level AA, including:

• A colour contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for text smaller than 18px (3:1 for large text).
• A semantic heading order (h1 → h2 → h3) on every page.
• Alternative text (alt) for every meaningful image.
• Full keyboard navigation (Tab / Shift+Tab / Enter) throughout the Site.
• Correct ARIA structure in the navigation menu, dialogs, and buttons.
• Touch targets of at least 44×44 pixels on mobile.
• Respect for your operating system's "reduced motion" preference.
• Automated checks with Lighthouse and axe-core on every deploy.

03Known limitations

Our accessibility efforts are ongoing. You may come across content or a page that has not yet been fully adapted. In those cases — or if you run into any difficulty — please contact us and we will address it promptly.

• Images uploaded through our CMS by content editors may occasionally be missing alt text; we review these on a rolling basis.
• Video embedded from third parties (such as YouTube) may not always include captions.
• Some external documents (PDFs) may not be fully accessible; you can request an accessible version using the contact details below.

04Reporting an accessibility issue

If you are unable to access content or complete an action on the Site, please let us know by emailing team@palmera.realestate or calling and messaging us on WhatsApp at +971 54 215 4066. Please include:

• The URL of the page where you encountered the problem.
• A description of the issue (what you were trying to do and what prevented you).
• The browser and device you are using.
• How we can reach you to follow up.

We aim to acknowledge your report within 5 business days with a plan of action.
